     Microneedling is also known as skin needling, collagen induction therapy, or percutaneous collagen induction. The microneedling pen used is a device that is constructed with all medical grade aluminum and filters. Tiny, controlled injuries are lightly stamped onto the skin with stainless steel needles. A numbing ointment is of course applied. This triggers a wound healing cascade in the lower layers of the skin to activate the platelets to release key growth factors involved in healing and tissue regeneration. Growth factors will then send signals to the cells forcing them to migrate to the site of injury to start the repair process. Because this stimulates a drastic effect in the cell turn over process, collagen and elastin are rebuilt and reconstructed.
